New Website Progress.
I haven’t been blogging recently. You may ask why? Well I’ve been putting my efforts into getting a couple of websites up and running and disposing of the some of the others. Not that anyone would mistake me for a web designer and I haven’t contributed much to the first one which is being designed by another company. As you may know Word Press can do some incredible things for you without you having to have detailed knowledge of how to go about it. I have found some of the instructional videos over simplified when it comes to problems because not everything happens as it’s supposed to. If something doesn’t work and you’ve done all that was required by the instructions where do you go from there? Usually there is more than one way to skin a cat as the old saying goes. The answer usually lies in some alternative method because quite often there is one. One tip on that topic I would like to share if you are trying out WordPress for yourself for the first time. It is after having found a theme which you may have decided to pay for because most of the free ones have a snag if you haven’t noticed, what is the easiest way to upload it? You can unzip the file and upload the entire file one at a time into the file manager or through an FTP which is what I’ve done previously. This time however I found a box which enabled me to upload the zip unopened and within a minute or so, Voila! The site is up and running. Of course you still have to tinker with it and upload content but it a good place to start instead of looking at a HTML editor with nothing on the page.
So now, going back to my first site, I will have, in a day or two, a website which I’m told took about three years to develop. This site is for printers and ink which is intended for the Australian market, the second one is a WordPress site for ladies lingerie and accessories which I’m doing on my own. Quite a contrast! This second site is an affiliate site only whereas the first one is drop shipping with four wholesalers in each capital city ready to deliver your needs whether for printers or cartridges at reasonable cost with quick and cheap delivery charges. This comes under the banner of Australasian General Traders but because of its versatility it will be expanded to cover many other products over time.

Hey Vernon, how are your sites coming along, have you found them to be profitable? I have started some coaching lately and I am finally seeing some success online, nothing major, but I can feel the momentum building, Sally

Hi Sally,
Thanks for your interest. Glad to hear you are having success. At the moment I have been having a problem tying to understand Atahualpa. It’s a freebie and if you can use it then you can configure WordPress any which way you want. It’s taking time but I’ll get there. I also have several other sites one of which should be on line in a week or so.
